Choosing crystals intuitively
Let's be grounded about crystals from the start, because I think it actually makes them more meaningful, not less.
I'm not going to tell you that a crystal will heal you, protect you from harm or guarantee anything. People have all sorts of beliefs about crystals, and you're welcome to yours. But in this course, I want you to explore them as spiritual and reflective tools. Things that can help you focus, connect, and notice your own responses.
Why crystals can help intuition
Crystals are beautiful, tactile, and full of symbolism. Holding one can be a way of slowing down. Choosing one can be a way of practising listening to your inner pull. Placing one somewhere can be a reminder of an intention.
That's all real and valuable, regardless of what you believe about energy.
Choosing intuitively
This is a brilliant intuition exercise in itself.
Next time you're in a crystal shop, or looking at your own collection, try not to read the labels first. Just look. Notice which ones you're drawn to. Pick them up. Notice how they feel in your hand: the weight, the temperature, the texture.
Notice your body. Does one make you feel calmer? More curious? Do you keep coming back to one?
Then, after you've chosen, look up the traditional associations, if you want to. Sometimes you'll find they resonate. Sometimes they won't. Both are fine.
Colour and symbolism
Colours can carry strong personal associations. Purple might feel spiritual to one person and remind another of their grandmother's cardigan.
- What colours are you drawn to at the moment?
- What do those colours mean to you, personally?
- Do your colour choices change depending on how you're feeling?
Personal associations
Your own associations matter more than any list. If a particular crystal reminds you of the sea, or a person, or a time in your life: that's part of its meaning for you.
Write, then go a little deeper
Write honestly about what's on your mind. You'll get a few personal reflection questions, shaped by the course, to help you notice what's underneath. They're prompts, not answers.
Take your time. Mark it complete when you've done the exercises.
