Module 11: Intuition in Everyday Life

Lesson 1 of 2 · 16 min

Relationships, friendships and boundaries

Relationships are where intuition gets tested the most, and where it can be the most useful.

They're also where it's easiest to get confused, because there's so much emotion, history and wanting involved.

Relationships

Your intuition can tell you a lot about the people in your life. How you feel around them. Whether something's shifted. Whether a connection feels nourishing or draining.

But it can also get tangled up with insecurity, past hurt and desire. If you've been let down before, you might feel suspicious of someone who's done nothing wrong. If you really like someone, you might ignore signs you'd spot immediately in a friend's relationship.

The discernment questions from Module 3 are really important here.

  • What do I actually know about this person?
  • What am I assuming?
  • Is this about them, or about my past?
  • How do I genuinely feel when I'm with them, not just when I'm thinking about them?

That last one is a good one. How you feel in someone's actual company is often more honest than how you feel when you're imagining them.

Friendships

Sometimes you'll notice a friendship has changed. You leave feeling drained. You feel like you have to perform. You're not sure you want to keep going.

That doesn't mean you have to end it dramatically. It might mean having an honest conversation. It might mean seeing them a bit less. It might mean just noticing for now.

Boundaries

Boundaries are where intuition meets action. Your inner sense often knows when something isn't okay long before you're ready to say so.

  • That tight feeling when someone asks for "just one more favour."
  • The resentment that builds when you keep saying yes.
  • The relief when a plan gets cancelled.

These are all signals that a boundary might be needed.

Saying no and saying yes

Saying no is often hard. But so is saying yes. A real, wholehearted yes to something that excites and scares you.

Your intuition is involved in both. Sometimes trusting yourself means turning something down. Sometimes it means saying yes despite the nerves.

What Needs My Attention?

A grounding spread for busy times, to find what actually matters underneath the noise.

How to approach it

Ground yourself first. Ask: 'Out of everything, what genuinely needs my attention?'

Before you interpret

  • Which card feels the most urgent? Which feels the calmest?
  • Notice your breath as you look at each one.

Using your own deck? Lay it out and use the notes below.

1. What's loud

What's taking up the most space in my head?

2. What matters

What actually needs my attention?

3. What can wait

What can I put down for now?

What do you notice?

First impressions, colours, body response, then meaning.

Saves automatically as you write

Reflection

  • Are 'what's loud' and 'what matters' the same thing?
  • What will you let wait this week?
