Module 2: Discovering Your Intuitive Language

Lesson 1 of 3 · 15 min

The many ways intuition shows up

One of the most freeing things you'll learn in this course is that there's no single "correct" way to experience intuition.

Some people see pictures. Some people just know things. Some people feel it in their stomach. Some people get a word or a phrase that pops into their head. Some people notice it through dreams. Plenty of people get a mix.

If you've ever thought "I'm not intuitive because I don't see anything," please let that go right now. You might just not be a visual person. That's fine.

The different channels

Let's walk through some of the most common ways intuition shows up. As you read, notice which ones feel familiar, not which ones sound the most impressive.

  • Thoughts: a sudden idea or sentence that seems to come from slightly outside your normal thinking.
  • Feelings: a shift in mood or emotion that doesn't quite match what's happening on the surface.
  • Body sensations: tightening, softening, heaviness, lightness, a pull, a lean away.
  • Imagery: pictures, colours, symbols, a scene that flashes up.
  • Words: a single word or phrase that keeps coming back.
  • Sudden knowing: no picture, no feeling, you just know.
  • Patterns: you notice the same thing coming up again and again.
  • Impressions: a general sense of a person or place, like an atmosphere.
  • Dreams: images or feelings from sleep that stay with you.
  • Emotional shifts: feeling suddenly flat, or suddenly relieved, when a topic comes up.
  • Environmental awareness: noticing things around you that seem to stand out.

Most people have a favourite

Over time you'll probably find one or two channels are your strongest. That's your intuitive language. The way your inner knowing most naturally talks to you.

It doesn't mean the others are closed. It just means you'll get more out of paying attention where you already have a signal, rather than trying to force yourself into a style that isn't yours.

Your intuitive language can change

It's not fixed. As you practise, you might find new channels opening up, or one becoming clearer. Stress, tiredness and your general state of mind can also change how easily you hear yourself.

So don't treat this like a personality test that puts you in a box. Treat it like getting to know someone: you.

Write, then go a little deeper

Write honestly about what's on your mind. You'll get a few personal reflection questions, shaped by the course, to help you notice what's underneath. They're prompts, not answers.
